The Twisted Twosome
A Monterey County Examiner Investigation
A Monterey County Examiner Investigation
The Twisted Twosome is an investigative journalism expose born of necessity, not curiosity or detached concern.
Four honest and sincere attempts to engage Glenn Church and Marilyn Vierra in direct, transparent dialogue on a myriad of important concerns failed miserably over a 30 month time period. then a proper and reasonable Deman for Transparency was issued, to allow them to confirm or corretc the record and that was denied. Those initial acts are what makes this an "expose" and not a "hit piece" at all.
While some may initially view the labelling of the two of them as "the twisted-twosome" as a bit edgy, or aggressive -- as you read into this you should find that label is just a factual descriptor created from their emails and their own prose.
Some may view the title as "uncivil" . Please don't project about things that have transpired in writing as if they have not already transpired.
A civil dialogue requires two or more opposing sides to engage in open, honest transparent discussion.
Church and Vierra were asked for meetings on two specific occasions on a myriad of issues. The requests were polite, direct and clear. Not only did they refuse, they deflected with obvious evasive writing techniques on topics that should have been of concern -- an on situations they could have in fact affected easily.
Church and Vierra were then issued a "Civil Demand" with very reasonable requests for authorship confirmation -- given the confusion the two seemed to be creating together in writing -- and they refused that as well.
Indeed, we just blew past civil and this expose is to show you those attempts were already made and declined.
So where to next?
With a little digging it was discovered that both of these inviduals can clearly identify their family lines back to immigrants to this area in the 1860s or prior and Church can track his back to the mid 1600s in Massachusetts.
Most of us in the Untied States can't do that. That makes them a bit different than most, and Church found the time to do his tracking with his father in the 1970s, before the internet, in a way that would have taken 100's if not 1000's of hours. Who do you know that has time for that type of research today?
When people have "no need to work" because of "Trusts" and long standing land and commercial ownership that they actively hide to present themselves as "common folk", it often goes awry because they have to fake financial stress and strain that others have. Sometimes we refer to these types of people as "trust funders" -- and while that seems to apply to both now -- even just owning land handed down from a prior generation can lead to some similar traits.
Faken economic stress is an impossible feat to do without showing cracks. When those cracks show, people who are under actual social and economic stress can quickly sense wolves in sheeps clothing. This is especially true in a society with no proper social safety nets or not for profit health care.
Indeed when anti-social situations are created and supported by multi-generational families who creat to prevent competition for their long standing commercial monopolies or challenges to their "peaceful way of life", tensions can rise.
With Church and Vierra, are we actually looking at "trust funders gone wild"? Is the deflection and diversion presented in their email strings what a "trust funder defense" looks like?
Then, the bigger questions arise.
Are they executing offensive actions via legislation to sustain family controls of the county in ways that benefit them and harm "regular people" more ?
If this could be prove so, what would you do?
As you read into this you will see it's in their written responses to well framed and organized emails where their "twisting of fact" and "flexing of narrative" blur and omit so much, that the title of the "twisted twosome" becomes simply descriptive.
This is a situation they created for themselves not one some outside journalist dug up.
Now it's time for a lot more people to try to figure out what's going on and how stop the forward motion taking us all in the wrong direction.
California and Monterey County Governance systems are discussed in this process as well.
These are systems created in the1860s or prior -- and many were likely way outgrown decades ago due to societal change. So, while learning about people behaving poorly, consider changes needed for the framework too.
Now is the time for expressing far more urgent(constituent) concern for bad behavior, poor leadership, and outdated governance systems.
Then, you be the judge.
